Title: Should I update my GPU
Post by: eXoTaylor on June 05, 2013, 05:25:34 pm
I am curious to know if anyone here has got the new GTX 780 and how well they are for rendering. I currently have a FirePro W8000. Beast of a card but I am considering selling it and getting dual GTX 780's

*Edit
Just read the minimum specs and the section about SLI GPU's. So Now my question is would it be beneficial for me to swap cards to a Titan? I still need a card that can run fast within cad programs.

Unless you are drawing several A0 size drawings on the same screen on AutoCAD or something similar, the speed gain from vector optimized cards are negligible compared to what you will gain from shading optimized cards. Titan is still a monster during the modellling phase. I know, I model whole cities.

Just bought the beast!   It's worth it. It's fast.
