"expanded our Real-Time category. The Real-Time category has been renamed "Interactive" and now encompasses interactive kiosks, augmented reality, mobile applications, interactive web applications, real-time apps or any new technology "

but of course can/could enter in to other category's.

I go running!!! :D With the 2012 competition last-minute changes of rules for Realtime Category made by CGArchiect, for me, they removed my desire to try it for all over a decade. I hope they have luck! :+

Hi Nico,
You can submit under "animations commissioned". I did submit in 2012 and the submission is now featured under that category. You can enter under other categories too. You have got the skill, I think you can make lumion compete well against v-ray rendered animations in other categories. With G.I, 10 reflections, advanced clouds, and better trees the sky is the limit!

I was thinking about submitting my NGG contest entry.
Maybe revamped a bit with Lumion3 or my large Train Station project.

All in all I don't think a Lumion entry would ever win against the strong competition you see in rendered CG with large budgets like the new twin towers movie.
Also the interactive table things people developed are far more innovative as just a Lumion movie.

In the Lumion universe the things look great but not on a global level. We are living in a small outter world here. ;)

On one hand I agree with your point of view, however, I think the competitiveness of lumion on the grand stage does not fail because lumion doesn't achieve those levels of render quality that  other apps give, but mainly because, individual talents are failing to meet the fundamental principles of CGA. In other words, things like preparing the model's textures for CG rendering are often ignored in most of the lumion forum submissions. Post processing and story composition is also often ignored. I have seen a few presentations that have applied these principles  in lumion and their work suddenly stands out to a fairly reasonable quality to meet the standards of a world grand stage. Winning at this grand stage with a lumion entry, in my opinion, is still a great possibility if you put your heart to it.
