Title: Couple of Questions...
Post by: Joe1712 on February 16, 2015, 05:26:35 pm

I'm new to lumion, coming from a KeyShot background. Couple of things i'd love to know:

- Can you add a PNG image onto a texture or material? I.e, i want to add some graffiti onto a brick wall texture. I'm having problems with things tiling etc..can anyone recommend the best way around this without photo shopping? I've attached an example where the black graffiti would be an imported image.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Joe

Thanks for your interest in Lumion.

You can only use one texture(Color Map) for a material.  So adding Decals/splats/overlays/dirt and other multi-layered images is not possible.

The workaround options are to either:
1. add an additional surface for the area of the intended graphic close to the wall surface in the 3D modeling application, give it a material, or apply the graffiti texture to it, then import to Lumion.

2. import a plane and position it just in front of the wall and add the PNG texture to it using a Standard Material.
