Yes, that's the case however their argument that with manual labour, the 3D coverage is spotty will also apply to this technology. Certainly they will process major US cities first then slowly other areas, too but smaller places won't be covered within a couple of years (decades?). Of course technology can advance faster even in the near future but considering how poor, low resolution and often outdated even their 2D aerial imagery in the majority of the places all over the World, I bet SketchUp modellers making 3D stuff for GE will still have a lot do do for years.
