Title: Need advice about GPU
Post by: rexon22 on January 17, 2013, 12:46:00 pm
Currently I'm using GTX 460.
I don't build large scenes, I don't make movies (only picture rendering).
Would buying GTX 680 improve the rendered pictures quality? As I said, I don't use many objects so I don't need much GPU memory and since I render only pictures I don't care about rendering speed (which is still 1000x faster than CPU rendering).
I only care if GTX 680 is better than GTX 460 in rendering better looking pictures.

Hi rexon22, images rendered with those graphics cards will be virtually identical. If they use different driver software, there may be tiny, barely noticeable differences but you'd need to inspect individual pixels in Photoshop to find out for sure.
