As it is sold, things may have changed.

that's the way i see it. i assume people post there to "share" content out of the kindness of their hearts. :-D

i find the quality to be spotty as well but sometimes its a huge help to just get something in there and keep rolling.

yes Stucki but we can read too

Make sure you have the necessary rights to grant these licenses for any content that you submit to the Services

how to be sure that  the patented design is really free of right then.

I buy an element 3D and I post it on Trimble. That does not want to say that I had the right to poster it and even less to give a right of use.

It is not clear all that,  as usual then be vigilent and attentive, Big brother supervises us.

Guys, Google (as usual) never wants to make any TOS even a bit more clear as mud. Now that the owner changed, they did nothing much than changed the "Google" label to "Trimble".

I have been dealing with this for years now and what I can say is that at least employees never said "no" when it came to questions like this. So in essence; yes, whatever is posted in the 3D Warehouse is free to use even in a commercial environment (let's forget about the average quality of these models now).

As for the "source" of whatever has been shared there is royalty free or no, cannot be checked (unless you have a better knowledge about a certain item being pirated). You are only required to
From the above points, it is clear that (unless you do know the contrary) you may assume that whatever is shared there is shared free of any copyright and you are free to use it.

Edit: ah yes, I am a lawyer, too. ;)

@ team lumion: havent you used some google-warehouse models in some of your promo movies ?

If you mean the alpine dwelling building, I had to contact the creator to get his permission, since the Google Warehouse terms of service stated that you were not allowed to aggregate the content for redistribution.

For that reason, our only option was to ask the guy who made it.
