Title: Renderoutput
Post by: ron_ADST on October 02, 2012, 03:54:34 pm
I was very happy with the very small renders in the freeversion. Jpeg under 700 k

So why does Lumion make such very big bmp files?

32 and 129 MB. Our systemmanagers will not be happy with me when they find out.

When I turn them into png with ACDSee they are a lot smaller.

Do you get similar sizes with a png output?  Is this from the image sequence in movie mode or from photo mode?

But not the same size. I will make a full report tomorrow.

Hi ron_ADST, the following output file formats should be available in Lumion - please verify that you can see these options in the Save IMG/MP4 window:

When you render for Email and Desktop the file formats include support for jpg, png etc that are compressed and have a default only compression/quality setting, as well as bitmap bmp uncompressed (as per Mortens file format image).

When rendering is for Print and Poster, Lumion only provides output to bmp (uncompressed).  Users have to convert to other formats themselves.

Was asked for inclusion of other formats in past back to v1.

(Sorry, as Peter mentioned, Print + Poster size photos can only be saved in .bmp format - this is indeed on the bug tracker list)
