Consumer-grade Nvidia GTX and AMD/ATI HD Radeon cards work fine with Lumion.

However, I'd avoid Nvidia Quadro cards and AMD/ATI FirePro cards as they are not as fast as GTX/Radeon cards, and they use non-standard driver software which can sometimes cause problems.

Here are some benchmarks for GTX and Radeon cards:

Should you be wanting to compare against the GTX 780 or the Titan?  Or is it price based?

The ATI R9 290X has only just been released, and apart from the R9 290X and R9 290 the rest are just re-branded existing 7000 series cards (as were the GTX 760/770).  There's plenty of reviews.

How well they actually compare until we see real user benchmarks is something of a guess.  One review has the 7990 better than the R9, so it depends, and the R9 290X is top of range.  The GTX 780 outperforms the 7990 in Passmark: Videocard Benchmarks (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html), but whether that holds true and whether that applies to Lumion is too early to say.  But you are welcome to let us know what results you get if your do go for the R9  :).

The GTX tends to do better with Lumion because its closer to standards.

Only thing you can be certain of, (all things being equal) todays tech will be faster than yesterdays.

Ok thanks for the answer.

I have another important question: I would like to take another chard in the future, so it's not cleair if lumion support at 100% the SLI mode..

Because lumion does not support 2 core in one card..
So is it the same for the SLI?
If i have 2 single core cards in SLI they work ?

Sry for my eng.

Lumion does not use multiple cards in SLI.

It certainly would help to scale the rendering. Tests were done a while back by the dev team but there were some issues that currently prevent such a feature.

Lumion does make use of multi-core CPU's, but again, is not designed to directly access 2 core GPU's like the GTX 690.

mporter and wschley

I have split your posts to a new topic: Titan Driver Crashes (http://lumion3d.com/forum/general-discussion/titan-driver-crashes/)  to keep the original intact.
