Title: [Awaiting Reply] Autofly?
Post by: ron_ADST on September 24, 2012, 11:04:15 am
It will be asked before but how do you stop Autofly? My view moves and there is nothing to stop it besides closing Lumion.

Hi Thorhill, if the camera spins around it's usually caused by a tablet or a joystick. If that's the case, please try to disconnect them and restart Lumion.

A workstation with only a mouse and a keyboard. I'm working with Lumion -

Looking around abit and then it just "fly's" of.

1) So only a keyboard and a mouse and no other USB devices, MIDI keyboards etc plugged in, correct?

2) And all that you do is to start Lumion, open an empty scene, look around a bit with the Arrow keys or the A/W/S/D keys while changing the viewpoint with the right mouse button, and then the camera starts to move straight ahead for ever, even if you stop pressing any keys/mousebuttons?

3) Once it starts to fly off, can you try to unplug the keyboard and the mouse to see if it makes a difference?

4) Has it behaved like this since you started using Lumion?

1) I have a usb starage device plugs in

2) never with empty scenes. After some time it happens (luckely not always) I can steer is a different direction but when I let go the keyboard it fly's in the first direction.

3) if it happens again we will try that.

4) It happend before. Not always. I have no idea what triggers it.

Still 2.1 build 3 - I wait with the update to 2.5 till we have our official licents

Countless bugs have been fixed since that version, so chances are good that it will be working fine as soon as you upgrade to 2.5.

Now with 2.5Pro still the same - it happens when I hold shift for a while in a big scene. Then it will noit stop

1) And you can't get it to stop by pressing A/W/S/D, the arrow keys or the left/middle/right mousebuttons?

2) Which direction is the camera moving in?

3) Could you try to connect a different keyboard and mouse, just to rule out any hardware issues?

Hi,

I have the same problem.

I have just downloaded 2.5free. In every scene I open, whether an example or empty, as soon as I left click, the camera starts flying off straight towards the crosshairs on the horizon. I can right click and change direction. Arrow keys can be used to stop it (pressing back arrow), but as soon as I let go, it flys off again. Moving left or right works, but the camera is still moving forward.

This is on a laptop, no external mouse or keyboard, windows 8.

Hi ab0psco, what happens if you connect an external mouse?

Hi Morten,

I plugged in a mouse and it was fine, arrow keys worked the way they should. I then turned the computer off, unplugged the mouse and tried again. That worked too. I then plugged the mouse back in whilst lumion was running. Then it starts the same trick, heading towards the crosshairs.

Since then it seems to be fine. Even now plugging mouse in and out I can't seem to recreate the problem. Although it repeatedly did it before, even with rebooting between.

Will let you know if it starts playing up again.

How weird... I'm guessing the trackpad might have something to do with it.

This worked for me. We had installed it on windows server 2012 and had the same experience when connecting through RDP. If you mouse has a whee roll it the opposite direction of the movement one click at a time. It may take 10 to 20 clicks. Mine stopped movement after that. Then the mouse wheel operated as such, one click forward on the wheel is moves forward continuously until you roll back one click. Then reverse the same way. It's actually neat if you get use to it but frustrating if you don't figure it out as you can't edit object with a scene in motion.

Also before we figured this out pressing the arrow key in the opposite direction an shift stopped movement temporarily while holding the keys down. Try that and see if that works.

Same problem here! I used it a half year ago without issues - and now auto fly :( uninstalled and installed again. Same thing. No external mouse attached on my laptop.

Is there already a solution?

Hi zeiman, which version of Lumion are you using? Lumion Pro 6.0? This is displayed on the Settings screen in Lumion.

I'm encountering this issue as well. Again, no joystick/etc plugged in. I'm on a desktop with a hard wired keyboard and wireless mouse. Hitting WASD, arrows, mouse clicks... nothing stops it.

Help?

Hello again. :)

Does #2 in this Knowledge Base article (https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003454434-Why-is-the-camera-spinning-or-moving-randomly-) help?

Just had this happen to me after holding shift to navigate for several seconds in Lumion 7 (keyboard and mouse not the problem). I couldn't edit or click anything when "flying" around and didn't want to start the taskbar to close lumion and lose data. To gain access to save the scene I held "shift + space" bar for a half minute or so then Lumion allowed me to click save even though the camera was still moving. I closed and reopened the file and it works now.

Yeah, it's definitely an error.

Although it's very rare, we've had several reports like that now, but have not yet been able to replicate the problem on our PCs.

Did it happen right after you switched back to Lumion from another application?

I was just operating in Lumion when it happened. I was holding shift and navigating over a sidewalk to see if any grass blades from the terrain overlapped with the sidewalk for maybe 20 seconds. Then I couldn't stop the camera from moving after that. In the future I will try not to hold the shift button for too long to hopefully avoid this.

Thanks for the info.

This is in Lumion 7.5 Trial, right?

Ah, you accidentally posted this in the 'Lumion Trial' section - hence my assumption.

I've had the  same issue with Lum 8, when I was trying to move fast pressing Shift key as well. It  triggered Windows' sticky keys function. I guess it is somehow related but I stilll couldn't figure out how to solve. I've also saved the scene and know I can't stop flying anymore  :D

Edit: It stopped as I turned to Lumion Window from posting. Previously it was temporarily stopping as I switch windows, but going on as I get back to the Lumion Window

Welcome, Byteman3D.

Don't worry - this is is usually easily resolved. :)

Which version of Lumion are you using?

Version 8.0?
