Hi BABE, judging from the video, they're using high-resolution satellite images on high-resolution terrain meshes.

They seem to be using satellite data from this government body:
http://geoportal.bayern.de/ (http://geoportal.bayern.de/)

According to the narrator the resolution of the satellite images is 900 times higher than Google Earth. High-resolution satellite imagery (without clouds) + the corresponding very accurate heightmap data for the 3D shape of the terrain mesh are usually very expensive to license, but if you don't mind paying and your graphics card has sufficient memory for the satellite imagery, you would be able to create a similar terrain in a 3D modeller which you could then import in Lumion.

thanx morton for the great information.

i do like lumions terrain features , there very good, but im also looking for a way to import
Real terrain , like the Alpine mountain , and Mount Everest ....anything thats
Instantly recognizable , by the public.but the only way seems to be...by adding more & more imagery , to Sketchups , terrain feature .............this takes a long long time, and even then its still quite small ........

You're right - it's very challenging to work with real-world terrains.

If you don't mind using fictional terrains in your videos, you could consider using a terrain generator (I don't know if they play well with Lumion though - you might need to import the generated meshes in SketchUp before exporting to Lumion):
