Title: Wind Farms
Post by: bigmaz2000 on June 16, 2012, 11:44:15 am
Hi, we do a lot of work on wind farms, and would love to use Lumion for our 3d visual models.  Has anyone else used Lumion for this?  We use Civil 3D To design the roads, earthworks etc.  Would love to hear of anyone elses workflow for this.  To be able to show the tracks, and the wind turbines (love the animated turbines in Lumion) would need to be able to import the proposed terrain somehow.

Hi bigmaz2000, I don't think we have any customers who are using Civil 3D with Lumion yet.

1) I've tried to find out which export options Civil 3D offers but in vain. Have you already tried to import terrains in Lumion?

2) Have you got access to the Civil Visualization Extension for 3DS Max Design by any chance? This might make it easier as there's a proven pipeline between 3DS Max and Lumion, and you can also use 3DS Max to animate the wind turbines.
