Title: material with openings
Post by: jorgensen on June 03, 2012, 09:55:29 pm
Hi

I was just playing around and wanted to create a facade that has holes in it.

I created a very simple model in sketchup, added a png texture with transparent areas and exported as collada with dobblet sided textures.

It shows up fine in Lumion, but it seems I can't get it transparent on both sides.

Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks

You need to apply the same material with the same UV mapping onto the back faces in SU. If you have not had ThomThom's UV Toolkit yet, here it is: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=18992 (http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=18992) (note that you will need his TT_Lib library, too).

Apply it only to the selection of faces so you will not end up with all materials copied on all back faces in your model.
