Title: Lumion and BOXX laptops
Post by: Marcy Good on June 01, 2012, 07:49:15 pm
Does anyone have experience running Lumion on a GoBoxx laptop?  We're currently looking for a new rendering/presentation laptop for our visualization team and GoBoxx is one option.  Their systems come with the following video cards.

NVIDIA® GeForce 580M 2GB
NVIDIA (Kepler) Geforce GTX 675M 2GB

Their desktop workstation can be spec'd with a Quadro 4 GB but from past experience Lumion runs just as well with the more affordable "gaming" cards (GeForce/Radeon) compared to the professional cards (Quadro/FirePro).

We currently have a Sager NP8170 with a GeForce GTX 485M 2GB.  It has done the job for us for the past year, but recently while rendering if crashes without warning.

Thanks.

Just doing the same, I agree, stick with gaming cards and I would simply get the faster of the two.
