We're beginning new PC buying here at work and all the Dells come with is Quadro cards. Does Lumion run well with these cards or do I need to get a GTX after the new machine's come in?

actually quadro cards arent good for realtime rendering apps such as lumion or twinmotion just like they arent good for high def games... you ought to have GTX cards mate...

Thats what I needed to know. Thanks... :)

I have a quadro 4000, works fine.

I also run Lumion on a system with 2 x Quadro 4000 and works fine (but only with the first one).

Hi fossa
there are many post regarding Quadro cards in this forum... Work almost fine, depending the workstation in which are installed. Work better and faster with GTX cards.
I use both and found optimal results with GTX

yes lofts is very correct... i am not saying Lumion wont run on a Quadro system... it would surely do... all i said was that gaming cards like GTX mean more 'bang for the buck' when you are handling just realtime softwares rather than putting too much money to purchase a Quadro card... a decently priced GTX can give you the same performance as a costly Quadro.. although Quadro cards would be the best choice if you work on both Lumion and max/skp with vray..

Ferry actually has an Nvidia Quadro 4000 card in his workstation PC.
Not because it's a fast graphics card compared to high-end GTX cards (it isn't). But because he has to use this card in order to doublecheck that everything in Lumion still works as expected, despite the custom Quadro driver software.

Thanks, good to know.
