Title: Can't load animated object
Post by: HHbomb on November 30, 2010, 10:33:13 pm
Hello

I work with max2011. I tried .fbx and .dae with non baked animation, baked and pointcached... I can import the mesh but not animation.

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Importing animations from max is not possible at this moment.

It will be probably possible once q3d 5 is released.

Object movement animations can be also controled in the movie section/effects/scene effect/ Move item

The characters and birds and animals in Lumion use a special method of point clouds to render. This feature is only available in Quest3D 5.

You can also see windmills in the landscape that animate. These can for now only be created with Quest3D. We disabled animation for direct import into Lumion for now. We need to test this functionality better before we enable it again.

For now the only method to get normal non skinned animation into Lumion is to use Quest3D 4.x import your animation export a cgr and put that in one of the content folders of Lumion.

We decided to skip animation for v1.0. Of course the people animate and the trees but importing animations is not officially supported. Like Ferry said you can probably hack your way around it it with Quest3D but it's not officially supported.
