This has been fixed in 2.1 Build 4, but you may want to wait with the upgrade until 2.2 is ready (as 2.1 Build 4 has a nasty Save As bug).

hey how did you get that god rays effect in the still image... i thought it was only possible during animation.. also did you use any fog object to achieve this.. please elaborate.

I was also puzzled by this, but I found it by chance,
create a movie and record the first shot you want, add your effects, then before rendering just switch the to the Photo mode and all the effects will be there ;)
