Title: Animating 3ds Max objects along a path
Post by: batess on March 29, 2012, 05:33:06 am
Hi there!,
2.1 build 4 is working excellent thanks.  Seems that most of my issues have been resolved in this update.

There is one major issue unresolved.  i am animating a monorail along a track (Spline) in 3ds Max, however i assume the spline doesnt import into Lumion hence the animation does not work.  Do i have to animate the path of the monorail carriage in Lumion or is there a way make it work?

Tim

If you're talking about a simple pathconstraint spline animation then you should be fine
with exporting both the spline and object attached to it via .fbx (bake animation).
The spline itself won't render in Lumion. Also make sure you import with the 'import animations flag' checked on ;-)

Ahh. Thankyou,  'baked animation' being the key words.

You guys rock.
