Title: Camera path in Softimage
Post by: RT-Visualization on December 27, 2010, 08:34:20 pm
Hello there,

I'm doing some tests with Autodesk Softimage.

The export in .dae looks good, no major problems, except 2:

1. I'm not able to import the camera path. Is there a way to do camera paths inside Lumion?

2. When I'm working with the model itself I usually see that something is not right ( my fault actually ) so I export it again in Softimage and reload the model using the reimpot option from the "material apply tab", but when I reimpot the model all the materials that I've applied in Lumion stays, all the other materials turns black and is not that comfortable to work like this. So it is normal, or is a bug or what?

I'm using the trial version by the way, so I don't know if the point 2 is already solved Confused

Currently you can't bring in camera paths.

Are you using the update of the trial?

You can find the link in this forum.

Not yet, I just installed the first release on an another pc just to test it with Softimage, but I'll download the new trial soon.

Did you try to export camera paths from Softimage? I'm using 2011 and I tried both .dae and .fbx, but is not working or I'm doing something wrong…

Well, if you manage to export the camera path properly please let me know :)

Edit: Sporry but I misunderstood, so there's no way to import camera paths, but you can only create camera paths in Lumion, is that right?

Is there a tutorial or a quick guide on how to do that?

Edit2: Ok, movie done. quite simple actually, I just played with the 3D itself and make just images and not movies :)
