Title: 'The Buzzer' tv show - first Test Of Lumion 2
Post by: cmeed on February 20, 2012, 11:42:46 pm
Here's my first real test of Lumion2 and its lighting - the model is of a childrens tv show I did in 2010. It was called the Buzzer , it was a for Al Jazira Television and was shot in Abu Dhabi. Which, coming from London, was nice. contestants play games and answer questions working their way to the final 'Buzzer' assault course.
My Set Designer and I are very intrested in Lumion for visualising our designs and presentations. Its speed is amazing although it struck a hard blow when I realised it dosen't do reflections! Well from my point of view it doesn't, I'm designing for studio based shows where the sky rarely gets a look in...... a few reflections based posts have revealed that Planer reflections could (please please please) be on there way. Any indoor will do.

theres a few mis-aligned textures, textures missing and so forth. All i did was upload the model and play. took 4hrs to render on 3 stars 113mb. tons of lights.
Cheers
Chris

That is wonderful....great color and use of light...good fun to take a ride around on the slide and through the hoops. There is a new surprise here everyday...No one should have that much fun with 3d software... :-D
Cheers!

Really nice! Try lowering the speed of the camera. I notice that if you are building a project you can easily set the speed high because know what everything looks like so it's not hard to follow. For new users it might be a bit too fast. Slow shots really help new viewers to absorb the images and see what is going on. You can switch between fast and slow paced sections to keep things exciting.

quite right. establishing shots would be needed if this was going to be seen by a commissioner or production company
Also on a 'still' shot I like to move the camera a bit so theres a tiny bit of movement. a shot of 5 seconds maybe has three camera clicks to it. moving the camera slightly each click. feels less cgi.
it was tricky to control the pace of the long all in one section. also editing it too. I went through the tubes acouple of times but didn't have enough keyframes in that place to alter it successfully. If you have a Long sequence of shots like this is thera a way to break it down into smaller parts but still look like one complete flythrough?

Hi Chris, you can make one clip start were another clip ended, but the camera will come to a complete standstill at the end of each clip. This is probably not what you want...
