Title: streetlights from siteco
Post by: ilwedritschel on February 04, 2012, 08:51:01 pm
hallo,

i imported streetlights from siteco for share

the original 3d cad dates for further in and out lights

http://www.siteco.de/de/service/planungswerkzeuge.html (http://www.siteco.de/de/service/planungswerkzeuge.html)

lights in action not low poly but quick enough to work in lumion. seperate to layer (lights and lamps)

maybe somebody can help me. see the picture before last one, cars are not posible to rotate fine enough. street and parking place are 2 degree, but lumi can not rotate less then ca. 3 degree.

Thanks for share.

Just wondering, although could find out myself, whats the resolution/poly count of some of those?  Have they been optimised?  Reason ask, is one light might be OK, but if we need to multiply one of those lights in a scene by say 50 or 100, then the count is going up quickly and (might be wrong in this) but Lumion cant directly treat them all as an instanced object.

Not sure about SU but for a good polyon cruncher try www.mootools.com (http://www.mootools.com)

The polygon cruncher from MooTools is the same software which is used in some AutoDesk products (Some of you might be familiar with the ProOptimizer in 3DS Max). In my experience, the standalone version of the polygon cruncher is incredibly efficient and very good value for money if you have to work with heavy models on a regular basis. The software also allows you to convert 3D models to a variety of file formats.
