We are trying to get more content into Lumion and here is a screenshot of some new bushes we are adding to update 1.
-
Excellent!
If its not too much trouble I'd like to see a Dutch Cow (the one with the black and white) skin (the cow-model is fine) and please add a dog :)
You guys also considering accepting externally created content?
-
What do you mean with externally created content?
-
Could go down like 'We'd love to see more of this or that so if you feel like contributing to our content-library....' ?
-
Looks Great Ferry. Thank you!  One suggrestion would be to make sure there are some single grass plants, and single bushes rather then just masses of them. While the masses of grasses that are currently in the library are nice when you are placing objects in a natual way it is almost impossible to get them to fit nicely around tight areas up next to buildings, or in square planters in a plaza. The built in offset of the objects do not work well for more formal lanscaping needed by architects. Â

Of course users are already free to share models between them. And we are ourselves always interested to improve/add models to the library that comes with Lumion. We protect all content so it can only be used in Lumion rendering. We are setting up a system to credit artists in the library. For animating content like animals we are also of course willing to pay a fee for the rights to use it in the library.
Â
So if anyone has nice models they want to see in the Lumion base library let us know! With Lumion sales we will also purchase new content so spread the word about Lumion also for more content
-
Chewbacca: I'll tell our content creators.
-
Sorry if this has been covered in another thread, if so can you please direct me to it...
Â
I want to know about content, will there be a store for users to buy content, similar to say Cornucopia for Vue content?
How does one go about creating content, as there are so many different modeling apps around, which ones integrate best with Lumion.
-
Some short grass would be excellent as well. I still need those animated fish! What is the best way to create content, considering I bought lumion and don't plan on buying quest3d?
-
Most content you just import into Lumion. Grass and trees can only be created by us or if you have a speedtree license. Animated content needs Quest3D in this version of Lumion.
-
Great news! A plenty of questions follows!
Â
When are you going to release the first update?
So is it possible to import Speedtree objects in Lumion?
Are you planning to build something like Google 3D Warehouse to make users share models between them all?
And something like Maxwell Render resources site to share materials?
-
It is hard to tell which road exactly we will take. For now we will try to have a flexible approach. We do however want to try to keep the content in our library of high quality. This means low polygons low on surfaces still great looking.
Â
If we provide an alternative platform besides 3d warehouse for users to share models or try to gather user models and improve them is something that we still must decide. One thing is clear we will try to make the base library so good that that will give us a big edge over other methods of rendering your architectural scenes.
Â
So automatically rotating car wheels lively city scenes from great character models to birds, flies, water, all dropped in seconds is what we believe Lumion can have an edge in.Â
Â
Soon we will reveal our oceans shader which is really awesome. Also smoke and fire particle shader systems are being worked on. We will keep you posted with screenshots and maybe a Quest3D created exe to show what is coming in the next months.
