Title: how to place a decal
Post by: Jacobs Architekten on January 25, 2012, 04:55:13 pm
Hi all,

Question: How do I place a decal on to an imported object without tiling it? Is this possible or do I have to place the decal in my 3d editor (SketchUp)?

Look here... http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=2954.0 (http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=2954.0)

If you import a face you can set it in place......and then as above.

Although this is best to embed on the ground..I have not actually tried it on an imported object off axis or in some strange position.

Hi Modelhead,

Thanks... I allready read that article.

I have this billboard (so vertical positioned) made in SketchUp and I want to place a decal on it without map it in SketchUp. I think right now it's best for me to place it nevertheless in SketchUp so the decal is UV-mapped.

I agree. You will then have many ways to modify it, in your image editor, in sketchup and in Lumion.
