Title: Chapel on the Water
Post by: alester on December 10, 2018, 01:30:22 pm
This is an animation I have been working on for the last week as I have had a bit of down time between projects.

Inspired by an article I saw in Architectural lighting magazine I did some research on Tadao Ando and found a beautiful animation of Ando's 'Chapel on the Water' by an artist by the name of Aldo Garcia. Produced back in 2013/14, Aldo had spent many months producing his short film.

Roll on 4 years I wanted to see if I could produce something comparable with Lumion 9 Pro. I set myself a limit of 1 week to model, texture, light, render and edit.

Modelling and texture mapping was done in 3dsMax 2019 and took a day
Scenes setup (vegetation and texture) and camera paths (lighting effects etc) took 3days.
Rendering approximately 4 minutes of footage at 1920x1080 (30fps) took about 48hrs on an NVIDIA GTX Titan X
Editing in Premier Pro took 1/2 a day

Enjoy.

Tadao Ando's one of my favorite architects, so this is a treat for me.
Thanks for sharing. Keep rocking!
