Title: materials from SketchUp
Post by: Nico RVArq.com on December 14, 2010, 12:50:08 pm
I have found that the reallocation of imported materials and textures from a SketchUp model is not always good. It

would therefore be desirable for all the work of each material, their

reflections and all customizable, that it can be applied manually, more

effectively. So I don´t mind not

automatically reallocated, I'm already accustomed to from the use of

Cinema 4D would be interesting to have such programs is common in the little

balls of each texture or material and drag model to map this way.

By the way, I export from Sketchup with Collada, and as layered work should tick the box of "export two-sides faces" as shown in the screenshot that attachment. Otherwise, all faces that are not appear in Lumion disoriented.

Thanks and regards.

Thanks and regards.

I also use sketchup, so not sure what issue you have with the materials?

Its important before you export, that you make sure in sketchup all white colored face are on the outside. Incase its blue colored, means the surface is actual flipped. Best to correct this before exporting.

See3d, I assign the textures and materials to the layers. (in Layers / Color by layers).

In this way the file is better organized, off and on layers. Quality that I hope in time also take Lumion.

Can I send you a sample file of one of my works by mail?

It would be very helpful.

Thanks.
