Title: Tahitian Resort
Post by: Derekw on December 14, 2011, 04:51:26 am
Earlier in the year I was fortunate enough to visit Tahiti. It really was a spectacular place and was the inspiration for this short video. The waterfall was modelled in Sketchup using Artisan Tools. Most of the other items were from the Lumion library. The overwater bungalows (by Ronald Sinke) were downloaded from the Sketchup 3D Warehouse along with other miscellaneous items. The royalty free music was from premiumbeat. It's my first attempt at combining sound and music with video but I had loads of fun doing it. I just wish it was a paid project!

Nice one Derekw.  I especially liked the introductory waterfalls and Pacific sunset with yacht at the end!

Perhaps we should start up a resort thread, as it seems we have something in common thematic-wise!!:  http://michael-stitt.com/resort/ (http://michael-stitt.com/resort/)

Many thanks for sharing!  8)

Thanks for the link blendman. I hadn't seen that one before. Looks fantastic. Great minds think alike! There must have been a stack of work putting that together. Lots of detail in the buildings, walkways etc. My bungalows look OK from the outside - but you don't want to venture inside, you might fall through the floor!

Anyway, glad you liked it.

Beautiful, well done Derek. I like very much the descendant introduction and the camera movements in general.
Bi the way, I hope that soon there will come the little money. My first 8 animations were free Lumion jobs, jobs that had already given to my clients in the past with only 3D images.
I did not see reward up to achieving a small portfolio in Vimeo. Patience and dedication. Luck.

Camera has a nice flow..you have worked hard to hide the engine....lots of good planting..the underwater greens are very thoughtful.

One thing...lower the tiling setting on your waterfall..the water is rushing to quickly and it puts the early shots (although they are nicely composed) out of scale.

Cheers!
