Title: How to make a dripping logo?
Post by: tug on December 05, 2011, 05:03:45 pm
How did you do the waterfall please ?

Hi Dazo, the waterfall is really easy to do, you only need a mesh wher aply the waterfall texture from Lumion. How to do this mesh is the matter, but using any modeler software (skp, rhino, Bonzai.....) with nurbs you can do it quite easy.

Byz great work again, as all shown here.

Hi Dazomatic, First I made the water surface, then I copied it a few centimeters below for the riverbed. I lowered the parts of the riverbed where I wanted water to pool. Export to Lumion, riverbed is landscape material.

can i buy the water surface off you ?..................in fact can i buy this scene off you ?
Dazomatic I have never sold my models, even if I did, this particular one is not worth anything. Except the water and riverbed everything comes from Lumion. Do you need a special water surface, maybe I can help with that.

Offset from the logo a set distance, extend it down to the "ground", and make it its own material.  Add the waterfall texture to the new material in Lumion.

edit:  think of the objects in reality, the logo would not be one in the same as the water...or if it was, you need that to be a constant path as you would follow the water to it's final destination.

Hi Dazo, here is a simple process to create a waterfall

from a simple mesh to a lumion's waterfall (done in five minutes)

dripping it's a little complicated, maybe using "realflow" or some aplications over Max, but you can do a waterfall flowing over logo using the sample explained before, with a little work.

doing a vertical mesh in one hand and the Warner logo in the other hand, and using some after effect as drip over logo.

Thanx Byzantuim ...

perhaps i want the impossible....
i want the waterfall to DRIP OFF the logo its been assigned to, so how do i create a MATERIAL that does that ?

also .as soon as the Waterfall Material comes into contact with the ocene , it Vanishes part of the Model logo too.
Hi Dazo,

Maybe you should try something like this instead of assigning waterfall to the logo. This is very rough modelling, with more work better results can be achieved.

Daz, have you already tried to add some of the fountain effects? (you can customise them in the Modify object menu)
