Rain and snow will not be part of the initial Lumion 2 release.

From a programming (and performance) perspective, it's somewhat tricky to implement raindrops/snowflakes collision vs buildings, so that it doesn't snow or rain indoors.

Yes, all the animated animals move in a more or less circular pattern which doesn't take collision detection/avoidance into account.

It's probably easiest if you just place the animated bird on the ground, move it up to the desired altitude, then move it horizontally with snapping turned off until it's flying around the area where you want it to be.

Excerpt from the Tips & Tricks thread:
(SHIFT) + Move selected object(s): Press shift while dragging selected objects to move them horizontally with snapping turned off.

You can start placing on top of something and pull it vertically up to get it above, too.
