Title: [Answered] export 'movement and paths "of the camera
Post by: Stio on November 10, 2011, 12:03:23 am
This is probably a question for the Ferry.

Lumion - an excellent program that provides a compromise between quality and speed of rendering.
Unfortunately - as long as I can see only the opportunity to make backgrounds render scenes.
That's a lot cheaper for me - than to rent renderfarm.
Let's say you can render the action of characters in another program.
But is there an easier way than the tracking camera to export the settings in the camera 3DMax ?
Tracking on the pre-finished shooting a scene does not always produce good results.
It would be much easier to do the import, export camera settings: 3DMax { - }  Lumion.
Perhaps you can suggest what that way?
This will provide additional opportunities to use Lumion for film and animation.
All agree that most of us use in the production of complete sets of products.
In my case, it Lumion, Vue, 3DMaks, DAZ, ZBrush, TopoGun, Mari.
Everyone has their own set - who is Maya or ?inema4D.
But for me - as for the other - the main task - to make them work effectively in a bundle.
You did an excellent product for architects.
But personally for me the first thing podestvovalo - a scene with hundreds of birds:)
Since that time, done a grand job.
But we have a common quality - we are ambitious.
It's time to make some sort of Lumion Media Pro or Lumion Media Core - and to attract producers of films.
2012 is favorable for this:)

All you have to - it's not the effects of pencil (not a problem to make a AfterEffekt)
and simple - to give a clear ability to import and export coordinate system, lighting and camera settings.
For example - in ZBrush is Goz - perfect for a bunch of Max - DAZ - ZBrush etc.
Vue - a Extreme - to bind to Max and etc.
This allows use of software kits.

If you have already thought about it (and I'm sure - that yes, we have much in common:)
Please share even small experience in this field.
Even while it would be very inconvenient tool, without the interface and running through the team:)

I (and others) will suit even the awkward workaround. We love and support, and no one will criticize - we have common goals.

I need your advice or way to solve this problem.

And lastly.
Provide an open channel at the sky and weather. You know me - I will not give it to anyone.
You have gorgeous sky - just beautiful, and the second version - perfect.
But I strongly strongly strongly want to make a normal library, weather and cloud cover. In the Vue, I myself did this - for their needs.
After all, the sky in different countries at different times are completely different. It can be romantic and dramatic.
Allow me to make a good library of clouds, fog and weather. And for me and for you.

Thank you for the crazy attitude to their work. This is a wonderful quality to make not indifferent to his work such a large number of people.

From time to time I check back with Lumion to see if this feature is added, so I can justify buying into Lumion, because without it it's next to worthless to me and my needs in production.
To me it's such an oversight that this feature is missing and obviously isn't deemed important. I also made a long post about it and was politely brushed off unfortunately (original link : The thread has disappeared now (for my account at least) it seems.

I'm not trying to be an angry troll or anything, but pretty please with sugar on top, add this feature! And don't just brush it off with a: "Thank you for your feedback" ;)

Thanks for reading :)

Hi Johan

Well if I can't thank you for your feedback, then thanks for the post  ;)  :).

The thread is still active.

As you may appreciate there are a large number of features that could be developed, so the developers try to focus on those things they think are relevant, can be achieved, and are part of the focus of Lumion.

Part of that focus is giving architects the ability to produce final content for their clients.

You have a different requirement than the developers currently deem as priority.

As mentioned in the other topic, the suggestion has also been mentioned by some other members.  There are different purposes for any import/export of camera paths.

Somehow I didn't get notified by this post and as it seems my (and others!) case have been made clearly, I think all resources have been used to get this VERY IMPORTANT (!  ;)) feature on the radar.

But I surrender, I won't bother you again, obviously I'm subscribed to the news letter, but sometimes not all features are included in a release announcement. But if it does I expect our names to be mentioned right thur! ;)

YES - import camera path / movement / settings - IS MOST NEEDED OPTION IN LUMION.
Lumion can realy fight with any others RT engines like octane, vray ... because is a DEEMON OF SPEED !

Cam's settings is the key !

LUMION TEAMS - Let us know about working or real talking about this update  PLEASE.
You doing amazing job ! thank You

I'm an architect. And standard for tooday [ for developers ] is DRONE footage + 3d simulation.
And unfortunetly I can't do this with LUMION [ still image ok, but animation is impossible ]. It's a really huge shame. Soft is amazing but this is BIGGEST hole in system.

here is my last job :

I'm and architect and illustrator using Lumion Pro 8.3.  I LOVE the speed.  The forum is correct - ALL of my clients are asking to integrate renderings and animations into drone footage - this is critical to phasing, the public approval process, and financing the project.  Consumer/client expectations have jumped up.

What is the ETA for camera tracking?  (I'm thanking myself for my post  ;))

In the meantime, while I'm sure the talented Lumion group is working on this, how about a workflow to get our 3D models into some kind of post-production?  I'm working with Sketchup, Revit, 3DS Max, and Adobe CC.  Research shows Adobe After Effects (AE) has the capacity to generate camera tracking and import 3D models.  However, I need the workflow to get models there.  Any solutions from the Forum?

Thanks gang,

Hi Blake

Thanks for the feedback

Are you aware that we have a dedicated Feedback and Ideas Board for suggestions?  All that's needed is for you to add your Lumion license to your Support Center (forum) Account.  See How do you register your License Key and get technical support? (

That also gives you full access to the Support Center and resources.  ;)

What is the ETA for camera tracking?
I'm sorry, but the developers of Lumion do not comment on what may or may not be implemented in future updates.

In regard drones, have you seen our recent Blog?: June 18 2018, Drone-to-3D workflow for architectural visualizations (
