Title: I need a word!
Post by: s133zy on May 15, 2014, 03:56:40 pm
So my educational license has timed out, and I'm finalizing my report on lumion, as part of my bachelor degree.

I'm wondering if you could help me with naming the point you see when you try to move an object.
Its basically at the 3d model's pivot point, alignment point etc. Its the one you use to move your objects. Does it got a name, or do I coin a term for it? :)

I'd like to take this chance aswell to say thank you for all the help you guys provide (I havent made that many posts, but I have certainly read a lot of them)

I only see "pivot" or "insertion point" "local origin" or a mix of that....

See attached pics.

Sounds like it's the first one you want - basic name just Object Icon.

The Pivot Point is that point where the Object Icon is positioned.

ps: thanks and all the best with the report and completing your degree.  Hopefully you will stick around on the forum, and there's plenty in the Free version to make use of until you are in a position to work with a full licensed version  :).
