Title: [Answered] Pricing Increase and length of subscription
Post by: John_Waggs on October 26, 2017, 04:31:45 pm
What will be the price increase for Version 8? Also, if I purchased Version 8 will that version work forever or is the cost only good for 1 year? Also, does a person get free upgrades from that point forward or do you have to pay for each new version?

There is no price increase. The prices of Lumion and Lumion Pro have remained the same for many years.

Also, if I purchased Version 8 will that version work forever

Yes, the license will not expire and there is zero pressure to upgrade when Lumion 9.0 is released. You are even allowed to sell your license if you no longer need it (unlike licenses from certain other companies). Judging from past sales, used licensed get sold pretty quickly (provided that the seller discounts the price a bit of course).

Also, does a person get free upgrades from that point forward or do you have to pay for each new version?

If you buy a Lumion 8.0 license, you get free 8.x updates until Lumion 9.0 is released in Q4 2018. Technical support here at the support center is also free, regardless of the version you're using. ;)

To give you an idea of what to expect in the future, upgrades to a major version, e.g. from Lumion 7 to 8, cost about 1/3 of the full price of a new license (ex sales tax). But again, there is no pressure to upgrade; you can continue to use a Lumion or Lumion Pro license, even if you decide that you don't want to upgrade.
