Title: Lumion 7.0 & 7.0.1: Hotfix for importing SketchUp models
Post by: Morten on December 02, 2016, 04:28:43 pm
Hello everyone,

This is just to let you know that our import/export developer has released a hotfix for Lumion 7.0 and 7.0.1.

The hotfix ensures that material names from the built-in material library in SketchUp are transferred to Lumion with the correct names (i.e. no brackets). This will make the names match the imported material names in previous versions of Lumion and ensure that existing material assignments in Lumion will work as expected when re-importing SketchUp (SKP) files.

If you have not imported SKP files in Lumion 7.0 or 7.0.1 yet, you should install the hotfix now.

If you have imported SKP files in Lumion 7.0 or 7.0.1 and have assigned Lumion materials to imported materials from SketchUp we recommend that you finish your current project before installing the hotfix.  If you install the hotfix mid-project and re-import SketchUp models, some of your existing material assignments will go missing and will have to be re-applied.  See also Update Option below.

1) Download the attached zip file (

2) Please rename SkpReader.dll to SkpReader.bak in the "Lumion 7.0.1 (or 7.0)/Channels" folder.

3) Unzip the attached SkpReader.dll file to the "Lumion 7.0.1 (or 7.0)/Channels" folder.

4) Restart Lumion.

Alternative to finishing your current project.
You "only" need to do this once - I know this is easier said than done if you've got a lot of SketchUp models. On a positive note, all future re-imports will match and use your existing Lumion material edits.
