Title: License for High School
Post by: RHSdevil_Drafting on November 22, 2016, 04:51:34 pm
Good morning,

I am trying to figure out the best means of getting an education license for my high school Drafting and CAD class. I am trying to transition the class to be a more college level program in order to better prepare the students for their future. We are an inner city school, thus we are not well equipped in terms of finances. If anyone has any advice or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there, RHSdevil_Drafting - thanks for getting in touch. :)

Given the fact that your budget is limited, the main stumbling block might be your hardware. Lumion requires a a PC with a fast graphics card (that type that you use for 3D games) and it won't work if you try to run it on a PC that doesn't meet the minimum system requirements.

What I would recommend is to take a look at this Knowledge Base post (https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003476793-What-kind-of-computer-does-Lumion-need-) and compare the specifications with your existing PCs.

If your hardware meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements, it's pretty straightforward to apply for free Educational licenses; all you need to do is to fill in this form (https://lumion3d.com/educational-licenses.html).

Then install Lumion Educational and SketchUp Make (http://www.sketchup.com/download) (free) and you should be good to go. :)

Let us know if we can help with anything else.
