Hi Big Rick, that's easily resolved but before we proceed, please click here (https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003490033-How-do-you-register-your-License-Key-and-get-technical-support-) and follow the instructions to register your Lumion license.

Thanks in advance.

if they aren't allowing for us to do this.

will this show in my profile or show here at work?

i know this is a mundane question......
trust me when i say im' a lil more savvy than i'm showing

Hi Big Rick

All that you need to do is to ask the person who purchased the software, or manages the software/license at your work to go to your Account settings and enter the license key.  I'm sure they will have no problem arranging that for you, it's part of the support they get having purchased Lumion  :).

You will then have full access to the forum and support.

They have that information on the email Act-3d sent them when the license was purchased, it's in an email titled "Getting Started With Lumion".

Alternatively, that person could sign on to this Support Center, and I'm sure you could use that forum's profile.  It's all work related, right.

Once you have that under way, usually only takes about 2 minutes to sort out and register, we can help resolve your problem.   Let us also know what version of Lumion you are using.  :)

Hi Rick, thanks for the email.

1) Regarding the issues above, can you let us know which version of Lumion you're using? (This is displayed on the Settings screen)

2) Please click here (https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003474413-Why-are-Spotlights-not-casting-shadows-001) and follow the instructions to upload the scene in LS6 format, so we can take a look.

3) Please also let us know which Photos/Clips we should render and which render settings to use, so we can try to replicate the issues at our end.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Rick

One more thing, please attach to a post the Lumion DXDiag Report for the PC where this is occurring. Refer our Knowledge Base Article: How do you attach a DXDiag report to a post? (https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003475133-How-do-you-attach-a-diagnostics-report-to-a-post-)

Hi Rick

We've not heard back from you or received the files and details as requested, so should we presume this issue is now resolved?

In regard the

:
If you were using version 6.0 then there was a fix in Release v6.0.1 (https://forum.lumion3d.com/index.php?topic=119581.0) for

Rasterisation on Print/Poster resolution renderings has been dramatically reduced.

So, you should be using at least version 6.3 (https://forum.lumion3d.com/index.php?topic=129461.0), or the go forward version 6.5.1 (https://forum.lumion3d.com/index.php?topic=138511.0) with support for DirectX 11.

Regarding blurred poster images:
As we are not able to review the files, all I can say is to ensure you are using the most recent Lumion version  (as above) and the PC has the most recent graphics drivers and Windows updates installed.  Drivers will sometimes require a manual download and install to update to the most recent.

Sounds great, Rick - we're looking forward to receiving the info + files if updating doesn't resolve the issues you're experiencing. :)

ok
i'm going to upload the DXDIAG report to the post first
and i'm gong to make my zip files right now so i can
get everything sent your way and see what you ladies
and gents have to say...

also, attached is the most recent upload of my project.
so what i am uploading is my desktop version of the
image of said project.
I have the same image but in poster format on my
computer at work and i feel like i'm getting the same
result with the ghosting.

i know....
clearly can't 100% tell since it's such a lower resolution

like i said, give me a bit of time so i can get the other
files uploaded.

Hi Rick, which version of Lumion are you using now? (This is displayed on the Settings screen in Lumion)

The reason I ask is that Lumion 6.5 and newer require that the latest graphics card driver and all Windows updates (including optional updates) have been installed.

The diagnostics report shows that your graphics card driver is 1 year old. Old drivers restrict memory usage and cause a variety of errors and glitches in Lumion 6.5+, so you'll need to follow each of the steps in this post (https://forum.lumion3d.com/index.php?topic=134901.msg543851#msg543851) as a matter of priority, especially if you're using version 6.5 or newer.

After completing step 1 to 3 please restart the PC before running Lumion again.

Please let us know if this resolves the ghosting issue for you.

Hi Rick

Thanks for the files.

Issue 1:- Horizontal lines:
I have rendered your Scene and get no horizontal lines (pic 1).  This is as should be with the fix provided in 6.0.1.  So if you are using 6.3/6.5 then so long as your drivers and Windows updates are all done, you should be fine to go.  Lets us know if not.

Issue 2:- Ghosting(bluriness):
It's easier to see once there are no horizontal lines :).  This is the Depth of field effect being used.  You may wish to adjust the settings to tweak things a bit, but as you can see the difference in bluriness of the trees (at distance) is the Depth of field effect. (pic 2 and 3).

(optional) For bit of fine tuning of the renders I note that there are some Shadow Effect settings that could be revisited.
a) Shadow Range could be lowered to about 175m, this will give best quality shadows for closer objects and the furthest object(background trees) are still within that range.
b) Omnishadow is at max, which means extra shadowing will occur across all objects, especially the trees in the background resulting in a little bit more darkness than may be desired.
c) Shadow Correction was at max.  This slider works the otherway around, less is more.  Has been commented to the developers. So a value of 0 gives greatest correction (closeness between object and shadow).  Normally the default value works well in most situations.
d) Indoor/Outdoor was set to Indoor.

I seem to be having the same issue of horizontal lines in my renderings.
I have the latest version of Lumion 7 (just purchased a few weeks ago).

Hi RQAW_17

Those horizontal lines are not a known issue in Lumion V7, but were in the earlier v6.0 and resolved in v6.0.1

Please confirm the Lumion version by attaching a screencapture of the Settings screen in full (example attached).

Please see our Knowledge Base Article and follow the steps: How do you get technical support? (https://support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003490033-How-do-you-register-your-License-Key-and-get-technical-support-)
