Title: CONCURSO
Post by: Nico RVArq.com on June 20, 2011, 11:59:04 pm
I will continue to be grateful, Remko you are great champion!
Before playing the tones in Lumion version 1, remove the cloud or placed the white floor and the building is inevitably obscured. This well is a pleasure. Thank you.

Er... #2 is "sin PP", which means "No postprocessing" (Spanish)

did not see that!!! really good rendering, so it is just tweaking the tone settings? :o

Very nice!
I also favor the one without PP.
What I really like is, when you zoom in a bit closer, it almost looks
like there's a subtle edge/cartoon shader at work.
Helps give it a unique look.

I'd like to see that perspective with White silhouette people placed all down the road - see if they look stuck on the image after it is processed if they are placed in different areas of shade and light.

Transparency in trees and cars.
It would be nice, no?
Will it be made directly from Lumion?

I don't see this implemented any time soon, but maybe we can have transparent layers in the future so you can just move stuff to a second layer and make everything 50% transparent

Nice work Nicholas!  I think the PP version is too heavy in contrast.  The straight Lumion renders now have great tone mapping (as you know), so, I would leave the tone of the image alone and maybe just adjust the white balance slightly.  (add a touch of blue and cyan to the highlights, no more than 5 and then bring back just a touch of warmth (red, yellow) to the shadows.)  You can also adjust the hue/saturation and play with the greens and yellows (slightly) to add some realism. Adding contrast is always a fine balance of not making the shadow areas loose visibility and not blowing out the highlights.  You can do a duplicate layer set to multiply and play with the opacity to get some contrast.  (I use the Levels usually)  I then use the shadow/highlights option to help bring back some of the dark areas.

What's great is that there is such a good consistency in the lumion renders to begin with, that when you find the sweet spot for PP, you can create a Lumion PP action button and process a render in one click.

Here's the original Lumion version with just a touch of adjustment to make a big difference.

Are those cars from Lumion's library? They look great!

No problem mate.  Just trying to share ideas on PP so we can all improve.  Didn't mean to offend you.
