Title: [Resolved]: Help - Removing Underwater effect Lumion 2.1/3
Post by: JuanCa on February 26, 2014, 04:15:55 pm
Somehow my model got "flooded" with the underwater effect and I cannot figure how to remove it.
Any quick fix?  Thanks!

Hi JuanCa, have you tried to move the camera high up in the air to see if you accidentally added a Water plane?

You can delete unwanted water planes like this:

I tried to get as far as it goes and the water is everywhere.  I had movie sections done and some of them have no water, I though maybe jumping back to the model from the movie will put the model with no water but is still there. See clip attached.  Thanks!

Ocean mode is "OFF".
I wonder if it is posible to import a lumion file to another lumion project? and maybe clean the effects that way.

Can you upload the 2 scene files please? (wetransfer.com -> morten [at] act-3d.com and peterm [at] act-3d.com)

We don't need any of the imported model files.

Which version did you save these files in, i.e. what is the exact version number?

Unfortunately I haven't got Lumion Free 2.1 anymore, so I can't even load your scene.

Can't you use Lumion Free 3.2.1 instead?

OK, I will update to the next version and see if I can fix it.  I will let you know.  Thank you again.

If you're evaluating Lumion, I'd recommend contacting a reseller.

They'll be able to give you a time-limited but fully functional trial version of Lumion 4.

Hi JuanCa

I tested your scene files sent us, unfortunately, it crashed the Lumion v2.1 Build 3 (both Free and full version) on my system, so was not able to test further in that version.  Also tried in v4, but same problem.

Hopefully by now you will have had time to download and install the most recent Free version (or Trial) and tested again, as that problem should not be there.

Thank you guys!
I left the pc installing the latest trial Lumion.  As soon as I get it up and running will post the results.

Unfurtunately it crashes with the latest Lumion.
Again, thanks and no worries.

Probably due to changes and fixed and differences from that old version to more current version.

Quickest path is to reconstruct the scene in the most recent Lumion Free v3.2.1, as you should not get that underwater issue.

Hi guys. I have a problem with water as well. I made a house with an underwater floor and i want to put some water (outside the house). I can't do it with Ocean command because the water get in the house as well. So i tried water plains but the thing is when I'm in the house (in the underwater floor) and look outside the window i can't see the underwater effect or the water at all.... Is there some way to do it?
(Sorry for my bad english)

It's a little tricky but you might be able to accomplish what need or close to (hopefully  :-D).

You will see underwater water :D when the camera is under the surface area that the Water Plane defines.  Move the camera in, underneath, then move it out and away from the Water Plane to see what I mean.

So the Water Plane needs to be set just to the right position, and the camera needs to move to a point where the switch happens.

Don't always try forcing things to happen in one clip either.  It might take two or more separate clips.  In some cases with one clip showing things only for underwater.

There is also an Underwater Effect you can use.

In addition, it may require a little post-editing in a video editor to remove frames not required where the timing or positioning is not able to achieve the result desired.

Yes I am new here. :) I searched through other topics and i didnt find anything, sorry if I wrote in the wrong section.
Thx for the tips, I see what you mean:) . I will try to play with the effects and clips to see what I can do  :)
It would be nice if Ocean command could recognise close boxes and not put water in them ;)

OK.  I went back to the file and I give another try to delete the water as Morten suggested early in the posts.  And this time worked!  For a strange reason the small body of water (a water fountain) got oversize to take all over the whole space but when the delete button clicked the object goes away.
Thank you for all your help!
