Title: Website changes
Post by: Remko on June 09, 2011, 04:01:50 pm
Hello people! As you can see we made some changes in the website. The purpose of these changes is to make things easier and to get rid of the Lumion dongle. You will be able to use the next version of Lumion with just a login and password.

-The link to your profile has moved to the main menu at the top
-The lay-out of your avatar has changed.
-The icons below your avatar like "licensed" have vanished and are replaced by new icon (more on that later)

-There's a new customer area now which allows you to get plug-ins for Lumion or upgrade Lumion to an Ultimate edition which includes all plugins.

- You need to link your license to your online account. If you link your license you will get an icon so others can see you are licensed. There are icons for all plug-ins and there's a special icon for Lumion Ultimate.

- The license key for Lumion will be sent shortly trough email. When you have it you can enter it in the customer area and your online account will be upgraded.

- In the customer area links will automatically appear for all the installers you can download based on the licenses you have.

- When Lumion SP2 is released it will automatically appear in your download list in the customer area. SP does not use a dongle anymore. You can use your online login and password to activate it.

FAQ:
Q: Where is Service Pack 2?
A: It will appear in the customer area when it is released.

Q: I purchased Lumion but I do not have a license key I can enter to upgrade my account.
A: We will send NEW license keys to everyone who purchased Lumion. If you did not receive it yet this is because at this point the majority of keys still has to be sent. Please note that the key printed on the Lumion box or dongle does not work. You need to get a new key trough email.

Q: How does the activation system work?
A: You need to activate Lumion using your personal Lumion web account when it starts. You must have a license key registered with your personal Lumion web account in order to activate Lumion.

Q: Do I need to stay on-line to use Lumion?
A: You only need to be online to activate or de-activate your Lumion installation. You can use Lumion offline when it has been activated.

Q: Can I use Lumion on multiple computers.
A: You can use Lumion on one computer for each account with a license. When you need to use Lumion on another computer, just deactivate it on the first computer and you will be able to activate it on the second computer.

Q: Why do I need Lumion credits to get plug-ins?
A: We will introduce special promotions so you can get Lumion credits. For example you can sell Lumion to friends and receive credits in exchange.

Just a thought.

So one person with 20 or 100 friends can buy one license of lumion - one person can pass out their special code to whomever wants it - one person can pass along their copy of lumion for whomever wants to install it - and everyone can use it as long as they are not using it at the same time?

Is that good?

Right. But you need to deactivate it on one system before you can activate on another. And you have to share online account. Of course the license is linked to only one online account :D

You only need to be online when activating Lumion. After that, you can use it offline.

As I read somewhere, it will try to get online when you turn it on every time but if cannot find internet access, will still work. I am not sure this has eventually been implemented but the above will work (as it is said - I have not downloaded it yet)

Hello Lofts.

try to download using
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/)

Is it Malware Free?
I used a similar program years ago and it turned out to have hidden surprises inside.

If not thank you for the heads up on that Gilson  :-D

Hello Conrad

Yes we must be careful.

I had speed problems when it was released Lumion 1.1, then someone in the forum pointed out this program. I use Norton Internet Security, has not had problems.

After you download the the file you should save it to a DVD.

No Redownload.  Reinstall.

@Lofts.........1 Day 15 hrs left for the download for me.
I'm sure they are getting hammered with everyone downloading.

Good question as though you can install and activate it on any number of computers but you need to deactivate it prior to a second activation on the previous one.

Now what happens when there is a crash and you cannot deactivate it? ::)

Probably just send them an email and let them know to deactivate that computer themselves.
Then just reactivate the new install.

But what do I know...  :D

Yes, probably they can deactivate from their end, too.

So true, what do we know...

Hi,

With SP1 there was a serious bandwith problem with kind regards of our former hosting provider. We now have good servers. However...when there is kind of a 'bank run'...the queues are longer...

How do I purchase Upgrade Lumion to Ultimate? I see the purchase option on the site is displayed as N / A.

You can buy credits and buy an Ultimate upgrade. Current users get 1000 credits for free, so you need to buy 4 credit vouchers.

On the Lumion Customer Area you can press 'Get More' in the left pane for more information.

Can I get a staff member to check my account and give me the Ultimate Icon?  I just upgraded, but can't seem to figure out how to get the icon back...it has disappeared.

You can go to your Customer area > Account (Profile) settings:
http://lumion3d.com/credits/Userboard/UserProfile.aspx (http://lumion3d.com/credits/Userboard/UserProfile.aspx)
and at the bottom, there are some icons to choose from (or just one).
