Title: Upgrading lumion to version 6 do i need to keep previous version?
Post by: designmad on November 12, 2015, 01:03:24 pm
Hello everyone,
We have just upgraded to version 6 of lumion however there dosnt seem to be enough disk space for it to fully download!
Do i need to keep the previous version (Version 5) installed on my computer?
I don't want to delete version 5 and risk loosing all of my models.
If i do need to keep version 5 is there a way to download it to another location?

Also will my models created in version 5 be able to be accessed in lumion version 6?

Please HELP!

Hi designmad, if you have this little space left on the C: drive, I would recommend that you consider moving the My Documents folder to a different drive.

If you click here (https://forum.lumion3d.com/f-a-q/lumion-6-frequently-asked-questions/), there's instructions on how to do that in the first question & answer.

To answer your other questions, no - you don't need to keep Lumion 5 installed but it's probably a good idea to keep it as a back-up in case you need it in a project. To free up space on your C: drive, you can simply move the installed Lumion 5 folder to another drive. You'll need to update the shortcut to the Lumion.exe file after you move the folder of course.

Regarding accessing your Lumion 5 models in Lumion 6, please see the third question & answer in the same FAQ post (https://forum.lumion3d.com/f-a-q/lumion-6-frequently-asked-questions/).

By the way, please don't forget to click here (https://forum.lumion3d.com/index.php?topic=89381.0) and follow step 2, 3 and 4 in the "Need Support?" post.

Thanks in advance :)
