Title: Free version limitations
Post by: ck32250 on October 17, 2013, 12:32:40 am
hello, I just downloaded the free version. It seems the material library is gone or really limited? I only have I think 2 trees to choose from and I cant assign materials at all. Am I missing something? so far I really havent been able to test much in the free versionl except the clouds and sun. in some of the videos i watched they clicked on say a wall and made it concrete, clicked on the pool and made it moving water. How do i do that in free, the options dont seem to be there?

Hi ck32250, the Model and Material Libraries in Lumion Free are limited.

The procedure is the same as in the full versions though - click here (http://lumion3d.com/tutorials/?chapter=5) to see how to do it.

The provided Lumion Library Materials and Objects are limited also, so that the file size is reasonable for download.

The main area of use for materials though is in using the Custom Materials (first one, top left icon).  This one allows you to edit materials when a model is imported as well as add your own materials, textures and settings to those.  For example you make windows of buildings using the Glass Material (one of 9 sub-materials of the Custom type), create Standard Materials where you can add your own texture, Color Material etc.
