I don't get that error.  Just tried again running Lumion and OK. Previously started it at around 9:00am EU time and did not occur.

I run Win Defender and Norton (separately).

---
edit:  seems theres an issue if you are an Avast AV user:

The latest Avast Anti-virus quarantines 7805644A-FB2C-4BA2-8A8B-3D73D441D338.dll - > Lumion stops working.

If you are able to restore that DLL from Avast quarantine list, and set Avast to recognise Lumion is safe or to ignore this DLL, then hopefully that will fix things in interim.  We will need to send a note to Avast.

Please add 7805644A-FB2C-4BA2-8A8B-3D73D441D338.dll to the exclusions in Avast:

Real-time Shields -> File System Shield -> Expert Settings -> Exclusions -> Add

We will contact Avast to get them to stop harassing our customers ;)

OK, we've sent an email to Avast.

Hopefully they'll soon release an update that resolves the problem.

Hi Sacha, we haven't got access to the commercial version of Avast but it stops putting the DLL file into quarantine in the free version of Avast if we do the following:

Doesn't have the "Last file infected" because i don't keep infected file in the quarantine folder.

When entering the path "C:\Program Files\Lumion 3.2\Channels\*" manually doesn't work either..................

Remember to use the correct path + folder name, so 3.2.1 or whatever version you are using instead of 3.2.

If Avast has deleted the file, you'll have to add the DLL file to the Lumion 3.2.1/Channels folder again. I've attached it here, so you don't need to re-install Lumion.

Let me know if it works this time - I should stress that the DLL file is harmless and it's Avast which is causing this problem due to a 'false positive'. We're still waiting for a reply from them.

Maybe you'll have to turn Avast off to be able to download it? Can you prevent Avast from deleting detected files? Then you should at least be able to see the DLL file in the quarantine folder.

(We still haven't heard back from them :()

Hi lordbibo, at least we know what the problem is, but it's odd that you have not been able to exclude the DLL in Avast.

One of my colleagues also uses Avast and after adding the DLL to the Exclusions list he was able to prevent Avast from removing the DLL file in the Lumion/Channels folder (and he made the screenshots above so you can see how he did it in the free version of Avast).

In any case, there's still no reply from the Avast guys, even though I wrote that it was urgent... :(

Lumion Admin must clarify and prove this problem because I'm facing problem with the Virus included in your software.

I believe that if this is not a virus, then it shouldn't spread allover the PC and infect most of the exe sources, and exactly this is what happened with me, since long time and my PC is clean, and once I installed this Lumion (and was the big fault I made) and most of my Sources in my PC got infected by that stupid Evo win32 virus, and this is not a false positive from Avast as you always mention, otherwise, it shouldn't spread in my PC as I see..

Please Clarify this as soon as possible and how to stop this stupid virus not to continue spreading in my PC

The solutions already mentioned have solved those users who had the problem.  None of them reported what you are experiencing.  They also were not installing the software, it was already on their system, and it was a change in AVAST file recognition.

From where and what version did you install?

I installed latest version online from Lumion.com, and after the configuration I made to my AVAST as per instructions from Lumion.com support, AVAST no longer can detect Win32 evo-gen, and apparently, the virus is not exist as avast scan result show zero infected files, but the reality is that the virus still exist and spreading in my PC, and the provision is when i copied a file from my PC (the PC that has lumion and avast after configuration) to my laptop with updated avast with no configuration, it instantly detect that virus appeared when installing Lumion in my PC, accordingly and the conclusion is, the virus got removed from AVAST virus definition in my PC and spreading freely.

Hi assiam76

This must be a real worry for you if you seemed to be clear previously but now might have an infection.

I have tested the DLL file that was reported by AVAST with Windows Defender and Norton Internet Security, neither report any problem.

The issue is whether AVAST is reporting a False Positive, that is AVAST reporting is wrong FOR the DLL file identified here so far and continues to do so on your system.  Or, your system is infected with the virus you are getting messages about from some other source.

AVAST no longer can detect Win32 evo-gen, and apparently, the virus is not exist as avast scan result show zero infected files,

So you created the exclusion in AVAST for the DLL file and now there are no reports, so that should mean there are no other infections IF your complete system was scanned, and that includes scanning after a re-boot.

.. and the provision is when i copied a file from my PC (the PC that has lumion and avast after configuration) to my laptop with updated avast with no configuration, it instantly detect that virus appeared when installing Lumion in my PC, accordingly and the conclusion is, the virus got removed from AVAST virus definition in my PC and spreading freely.

So when you copied a file to the laptop the AVAST on the laptop reported that file as infected or it reported the installation on your PC during another Lumion install to be infected?  Was AVAST on your laptop scanning the PC also?

Research online and at the AVAST forums does not indicate any problems, only how to report false positives for the Evo win32 malware.

Have a read of this topic on Evo (http://malwaretips.com/blogs/win32evo-gen-susp-virus/), there's some steps to getting rid of included.  There's no reason yet to consider the Lumion install is the problem, especially as installing was not the factors that started the Avast reports here.

I'll try and do a check on the Free version.
