Forum members,

I've recently started using Lumion. Currently using v9.5.
I rendered out a movie in 4K. Upon playback of the mp4, a strange wireframe will pop in and out during playback. (image attached)
Has anyone experienced this before? if so, what exactly is happening?

I'm using interior F/X settings with real sky. The model has been zeroed out in world space. My export was in feet/inches from 3ds max. Not sure if meters is the desired unit for Lumion?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any more info needed, please advise.

Thank you.

Hi Black_Lodge,

Sorry that you are having this issue with your movie.

I recommend installing VLC to watch the movie. Please read and follow the instructions in the article below:

Knowledge Base: Why does your MP4 video freeze or look strange during playback?

If VLC doesn't solve it, please upload the .LS9 Project file + the .MP4 file and let us know which Clip we should render.

Knowledge Base: How do you upload files to Lumion staff?

Thanks.

Serge,

Thank you for the suggestion. I was wondering if a video player could be an issue. Codec, etc.
I did test on VLC per your suggestion, but still the same issue.

I rendered 2 more movies, with no issues in those videos. I may try to rerun the same movie and see if it happens again. It could have been a hiccup. If the problem persists, I will upload the project file as you suggested.

The quality you can obtain with this software is quite amazing.

Thanks again for the quick response. Much appreciated!

As a precaution, would you mind attaching a Diagnostics Report so we can verify that you're using a recent driver for your graphics card etc?

Knowledge Base: How do you attach a diagnostics report to a post?

Thanks in advance.

Please see attached and advise of any issues.

Thank you.

Thank you.

The Diagnostics Report looks fine, although you might want to install the latest driver for the NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card.

Please also note that the E: drive is low on free disk space.

However, that would only be a critical issue if your Documents folder is located on that drive or if you try to save a large .LS Project file to it.

You're welcome to upload the files if you'd like us to take a look.

Thanks Morten.

I've rendered several other videos at 720 vs the 4K, all of them have rendered fine without issue. I'm thinking an error of some sort occurred to the video in discussion. If I find it repeating itself, I'll upload the file.

Hi Black_Lodge

Please note that if you register the V9 License Key for your organization you can get access to the full Support Center and its resources.  What you see currently as a guest is a very small part of the forum.  See our Knowledge Base article: How do you get technical support?

Hi Guys...
Not sure if this is significant but I have noticed something like this in 7.5, and its due to an over use of the weathering shader when the settings are ramped up please see attached.

Note around the Turret and Gun Mantle, the polylines are visible I can only assume this is due to the incidence angle of the shader detecting the polygon edges.

Thanks for the tip, Rockape.

(Weathering will indeed highlight the edges of polygons)
