Hi Team Lumion,

The thing is due to my other software requirements like that in 3ds max and sketchup i cant purchase a GTX series graphic card the above mentioned softwares need a Quadro series graphic card so,
If i have to purchase a graphic card and that to in Quadro series only which card should i go for so as to render "ULTRA COMPLEX SCENES" in Lumion...please help

Respectfully

Hi Ronak, we would recommend buying a GTX graphics card instead of a Quadro card.

Nvidia Quadro cards are graphics cards with "certified" drivers for CAD applications which make them 3-4x as expensive as GTX cards for no apparent reason.

Most of our customers use Nvidia GTX cards and Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, SketchUp etc still work perfectly fine in terms of performance. In other words, there's no downside to buying a GTX card instead of an (over-priced) Quadro card.

To be able to work on ultra-complex scenes, we would recommend the GTX 1080 Ti. The equivalent Quadro card would be the P6000.

However, the P6000 is so expensive that you could buy a second high-end PC for the price of it. :D

Check out all of the the PassMark scores here:

And there's more information about picking a graphics card with the right PassMark points for your projects in this article:

Hope this helps.

Hi ROANK MOONDRA

Yes.  Both Morten and I, plus the developers use 3ds Max on various GTX based platforms, and it runs smoothly.  We are generally not doing modelling all day, but do require from time to time to open highly complex models made by other customers, and those work OK.

If there was a problem it could be hardware, or a 3ds Max, or other system related problems.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help with.
