Is there a special trick to navigate inside a large 3-story home to place furniture items and such? Or do I have to use the wasd keys, etc to go through each room of the house?

thanks.

Yes, you have to use the WASD keys to move around and Q & E to move up or down.

You can also adjust the camera speed to make it move slower or faster.

Please refer to this quote from the article below:

thanks. I noticed when placing a bed in a room that the bed was 'off' the floor and a bit into a wall. Any tricks on getting the placement correct the first time?

While you're moving a model, Lumion basically checks where the insertion point of the model snaps to nearby surfaces.

So if you're importing your own bed model, you need to make sure that the insertion point is in a meaningful place. Typically that would be at one end of the bed on the floor (behind the pillows).

So how do make sure that insertion point is in that sort of area? Well, the insertion point is basically 0,0,0 in your 3D modelling application, so you'll need to place the bed accordingly and then export it to Lumion.

Some more tips for moving objects:

Knowledge Base article: Is there a list of all the keyboard shortcuts in Lumion?
________________________________________________________

(SHIFT) + Move selected object(s): Press (SHIFT) while dragging selected objects to move them horizontally with snapping turned off.

(N): Holding down this key while moving objects will now ensure that the objects only move along the X axis. This also applies to the Move and Advanced Move effects in Movie mode.
(M): Holding down this key while moving objects will now ensure that the objects only move along the Z axis. This also applies to the Move and Advanced Move effects in Movie mode.

Hope this helps. :)
