Hello the  Lumion’s Team

I would like to know why you chose the name Lumion?

What are the origin of the Lumion’s name for you?

According to my research I have the impression that the origins of the word Lumion are French.

First between 1600 and 1850, there were 4 families who bore this name in France. ( Pict 1 )
Certainly Lumion comes from the word Lumignon which means "small flame " in french ( Pict 2 )

and then I found the word Lumion  in the writings of the coal miners in 1740 . Symbol of the entire mining corporation, the lamp to flame was the daily lives of the french miners for more than 270 years.

Lumion  simply means "the flame of the lamp of the french minor". ( Pict 3 and Pict 4 )

And for you, what mind Lumion ????

Best Regards
Francan

Lumignon

Sounds like "Bouef Lumignon" ;-) A tasty French beef meal with red wine and stuff.

It took ages to find a good name...but we never thought of something like this actually ;-)

Excelling choice Beef Bourguignon  :-P :-9

If you use LUMIONS with S, it come from the verb LUMER ( Pict 5)

But now we use more the verb ALLUMER which means ( Ligth up, brighten, turn on, switch on …..)

Of all ways this has something to do with the lighting.

Lumion shows the track and illuminated the passage to the future especially with the GI  ;) ;)

Hi  :)
I thought it was the contraction of "LUMI" and "ON" .... with the Latin etymology :
- The Latin Luminaria , plural lūmĭnare ("star", "torch"), derived from lumen-inis ("light", "flame", "daylight").

I found that a good culinary flat has more impact than the name of Lumion, even if it has taken years for the choose. Finally if the software is called Beef Bourguignon , there would have more supporters  :D :D
