Hi all,

I am an architecture student using Mac and Sketchup to produce my work at the moment. My tutor strongly suggests me to render in Lumion, but when I installed Windows + VM in my Mac, Lumion is too slow to run and basically I can't do anything.

Therefore I am considering buying a new PC to run Lumion, but before I fork out over $1000 (or $1500?) to buy a new PC, can you advise what kind of watermark is in the rendered image?

Also, is there any education version? It seems there is only trial version?

Thanks
Vic

Hi Vic, thanks for your interest in Lumion.

1) Lumion will run significantly faster if you install Windows on your Mac via Bootcamp as VM is known to cause artifacts when rendering videos and still images. That being said, most Macs unfortunately haven't got fast graphics cards, so you may be forced to buy a PC after all (see the minimum system requirements here). Which Mac have you got (product name and manufacturing year)?

2) We offer two educational versions that correspond to the commercial versions of Lumion and Lumion Pro. There's more information on this page. Lumion Educational Pro renders a small line of text in the top left corner in videos and on still images to make people aware of the fact that this version may not be used for commercial purposes. Lumion Educational Free has a similar watermark but also includes the Lumion logo in the top left corner. None of the watermarks are particularly intrusive though.

Let us know if you've got any other questions.

Hi Vic, unfortunately the MacBook Air does not have a graphics card that will work with Lumion.

Please click here to see what sort of system you will need.

There is no watermark in the 7-day trial version.

Hi Vic

There is a watermark for the Try/Demo version.  The one available from the Try Menu at top of page.

The Trial version is one available to those needing to evaluate Lumion for purchase, and is provided via local resellers.

Please have a chat to your tutor about applying for the Educational versions, per the link in Morten's earlier post .
