Thanks for the replies. I have moved this topic to our Lumion Trial Board.
A 180MB for a SketchUp file is quite large. But Lumion should be able to import from it with little problem, unless it also contains many replicated/instanced components or groups. If that's the case, then it will take longer to convert and optimize the model, as all parts of the SketchUp model need to be converted to polygons.1.
How long is it taking to import to Lumion?2.
Are you importing the .skp file directly?
There could also be a few other reasons why the file takes a long time to import, including the specifications of your PC. If you attach the following report we can review how well your hardware meets Lumion specifications. Lumion Diagnostics (DXDiag) Report
. Refer our Knowledge Base Article
: How do you attach a diagnostics report to a post?
Also, are you aware there is a newer V8.5 Pro Trial available? See Is there a Trial version of Lumion?
Apart from the new and enhanced features since v7.5 in Lumion, it also includes the new LiveSync for SketchUp
You are also welcome to send us your SketchUp and LS7 file so we can advise if, and what needs to be done to improve import times.
For example importing parts of the model so that Reloads
are being done at maximum efficiency.
If you want to proceed with that option, please upload the files to a file host, e.g. WeTransfer.com, and forward the download link to uploads[at]lumion.com (replace [at] with @).
Thanks in advance.
