[Answered] Trial with Vectorworks

I'm very interested in trying Lumion and have downloaded a trial copy but, firstly, I have no option to open/import vwx files even though the web site suggests that the software works directly with Vectorworks and, secondly, Benchmark is telling me that my graphics card is slow even though I have an Nvidia Quadro K3100M with 4096MB dedicated video memory!

Can anyone help?

Hi Iain, welcome.

Brace yourself for some bad news:

1) Unfortunately the Nvidia Quadro K3100M graphics card hasn't got enough Passmark points (1961 points), so it will not be possible to run Lumion without experiencing glitches, crashes and other unexpected behaviour. :-\

A minimum of 2,000 points are required to be able to work on simple Lumion scenes. There's more information about the graphics card requirements in this Knowledge Base article.

Have you got a PC with a faster graphics card that you can run Lumion on?

2) Regarding VectorWorks, there is no support for native VWX files. You need to export VectorWorks models to Lumion via .DAE (Collada) format.
