Totally confused about making waterfall

Firstly I want to know how you create a hole in the water plane as illustrated in the waterfall video on the website front page.

Second I guess the falling water in this video is actually one of the fountain particle effects turned at an angle so that it points down or am I missing something.

Third so how do I add color to this particle effect.

Fourth do I have to create my own landscape object and then import it to apply the waterfall custom texture to it?

Fifth why when I apply the waterfall custom color to an object does it just look like a shimmering moving color and not the way it does in the movie.

Thanks for any assistance

Hi Jimbo,

Create your waterfall in Sketchup using 'Sandbox' or other 3D skinning plugin. I use Artisan tools.
See attached. (I used this one in the Tahitian Resort movie I posted in an earlier topic).

Import your waterfall into Lumion and apply the waterfall material to it.

Simply adjust the property sliders (bump, tiling, foam) to get the look you want.

I hope this helps.
