One question to the Lumion staff...

I´m interested in buying a Tesla card to use with another application (bunkspeed)...

Is there any plan in the future, to use this kind of card to help us render faster in Lumion?

Thanks

Hi Fabio

I have one Tesla card using with Nvidia Quadro 4000 and dindn't work fine. Be sure your computer is able to use these kind of GC before spend a lot of money in Tesla card.

I also use Bubkspeed shot and this program didn't recognize Tesla, after a long time intechanging emails with Bunkspeed I opt for unistall the tesla and use only the Nvidia GC.

Hi Lofts

I´ve seen some amazing videos in the youtube with bunkspeed´s running on teslas...

Take a look...

I will ask bunkspeed shot´s guys if its possible before spend some money on that...off course...it´s a lot of money...but render in real time with vray "looks" is really amazing...i´m sure it will pay´s off. ;)

I´m a civil engineer, but i have clients for both architectural and industrial visuallization...i need to have a solution for any client...for example...i have a client that want´s to put his new boats on the water both on animation, marketing images and in a interactive and customizable enviroment, with material changing and such...i´ll use Lumion for the animation, 3dsmax & bunkspeed (parts, details an such) for the marketing stills, and quest3d for the interactive scene...

My dream is all that great tools running in HUGE teslas machines, with gigaflops of capacity aimed to render my projects... :-D

Regards from Brazil

A good idea could be to have a plugin that bakes texture and shadows inside Max..Maya...etc. using gpus
Unfortunately with Vray RT 2.0 is not possible yet. Then the model could be exported inside Lumion.
Another option could be a raytracing gpu based engine inside Lumion that bakes all light/gi photorealistic effects, except for reflections/refractions. With this option we could have smooth photorealistic shadows and GI.

Hi Fabio

That's right, these are samples done in Bunkspeed benchmark, but we've waste 6 month to solve why tesla and Nvidia Quadro 4000 didn't works fine with shot. And still today there is a mistery, but don't work. It's real, we've using tesla C150 and not C2050 maybe this is the problem.

If you solved the problems please let us Know

Hi Lofts

I don´t have a tesla card yet....i thinking about it...now more than ever, couse i saw that pretty amazing videos on youtube...i will have to see some other things before wasting that kind of money...here in Brazil, one tesla 2070 costs around US$ 4800 and i have to be shure it will work with all (at least the majority of all) softwares i use...i saw that vray will work on GPU´s as well in the next version (http://www.jigsaw3d.com/articles/v-ray-rt-gpu-benchmark-test)...so it would be great if all that wonderfull tolls could use that kind of power...

We will keep investigating high end systems. For this update we didn't change much though.
