Well, the reason it may sound cryptic is that it's actually rather difficult to edit a 32-bit heightmap in Photoshop. Anything above RGB 1,1,1 in the FarbwÃ¤hler
is pure white
As you saw in the Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts
thread, you can boost the white color in the FarbwÃ¤hler
from 1,1,1 to up to 20,20,20.32-bit texture in Lumion:
0 - 1 = 0 - 200m
0 - 2 = 0 - 400m
and so on...
Unfortunately, I am not a Photoshop expert, so I don't know if there's a way to scale the high dynamic range, so that the pure white (1-20) spectrum would be visible on a regular monitor, or indeed, if there is a way to convert an existing heightmap to the 1-20 spectrum.
Needless to say, the developers are aware of the fact that this makes it hard, if not impossible to make a heightmap in Photoshop that goes beyond 0 - 200m.
