Well, the reason it may sound cryptic is that it's actually rather difficult to edit a 32-bit heightmap in Photoshop. Anything above RGB 1,1,1 in the
Farbwähler is pure white

As you saw in the
Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts thread, you can boost the white color in the
Farbwähler from 1,1,1 to up to 20,20,20.
32-bit texture in Lumion:0 - 1 = 0 - 200m
0 - 2 = 0 - 400m
and so on...
Unfortunately, I am not a Photoshop expert, so I don't know if there's a way to scale the high dynamic range, so that the pure white (1-20) spectrum would be visible on a regular monitor, or indeed, if there is a way to convert an existing heightmap to the 1-20 spectrum.
Needless to say, the developers are aware of the fact that this makes it hard, if not impossible to make a heightmap in Photoshop that goes beyond 0 - 200m.
