If you look at the second video you posted, you can clearly see that the reflections on the gear knob are fake, ie, it seems to be a cubemap or a high dynamic range image with a sky and some greenery:

In other words, the actual surroundings are not reflected.

What we do in Lumion is to render the surroundings to a 360 degree reflection texture as seen from the camera perspective. This reflection texture can't be updated in real-time since it takes a moment to render the scene and the sky.

However, if you render a movie in 2- or 3-star mode the reflection texture is updated in every frame of the movie. It's obviously not raytraced reflections, so as I explained in other posts it's only an approximation that works ok in some situations and not so well in others.

Some of our options for reflections in future versions of Lumion:

Object reflections (for product visualisations):
As you know we currently only have a single 360 degree reflection map in Lumion which all reflective objects use. This is not a one-size-fits-all solution which is why we're getting so many questions/requests about reflections in the forum.

Remko has previously mentioned that it might be possible to render additional 360 degree reflection textures for individual objects. Each texture would have to be rendered from the centre of each object, and this technique would make the reflection approximation more accurate. If the reflection textures were updated in every frame, it would however take its toll on render times, so if this were to be implemented we would probably have to make it possible to switch off dynamic updates for those reflection textures.

Planar reflections for water, reflective floors, mirrors etc:
This is a proven technique, but the downside is that you have to render everything that is reflected a second time (mirrored), and depending on the scene complexity this can drastically reduce performance. This is the reason you typically only see planar reflections in small scenes in real-time 3D graphics.

I use Rhino V5-beta - it is awesome software.  +Grasshopper   :o    =amazing stuff
Definitely does not do real-time reflections from object to object.
V5-beta is much better than V4-official release.
+10 @ V5 for improved real-time rendered views.  Really nice. Really nice.
Handles massive amounts of polygons easily.

It takes the Rhino developers well over a year (often 2+) before they release new versions.
They get at pretty much all the bugs before they drop it on the public.  They don't give exact official release dates either until they know for sure.          Good Method Model.

Haven't looked at all but I was wondering if they export animated FBX.

Lumion is like their real-time view on steroids
